Ever exited a meeting feeling you understood about half the words and none of the concepts slickly pushed in handouts, presentations and PowerPoint?
You’re not alone. Deloitte’s consulting arm has issued a free jargon-busting program that works close to how a spellchecker does: by targeting suspect words and nailing them.
Bullfighter is a downloadable program that runs in Word and Powerpoint, with an aim to strip away bombast, lardy phrases and sentences that despite their excessive word count, mean very little. The CD-ROM edition is also free “to use and share with friends or longwinded co-workers,” the site says. Know anyone who could use it?
