A distinguished panel of five chose the following buildings as the most significant American projects for the 21st Century. They were published in a September edition of USA Weekend. Expert judges were William Gilchrist, planning director for Birmingham, Ala.; Carol Ross Barney, an architect who is currently designing the new Oklahoma City federal campus; Marilyn Taylor, chair/partner of Skidmore, Owings and Merrill LLP; Thomas Ventulett, architect, Thompson, Ventulett, Stainback and Associates; and Sarah Susanka, architect and author of The Not So Big House.
